Oh man this may be Alex’s best horribly mangled Facebook post yet. I got this one on the loopdy loop!

John C. Jay talks to the VCU Creative Director Program Aug. 15/07
I made good on my promise below and got an updated link from Brett McKenzie at ihaveanidea for that John Jay seminar at last year’s inaugural VCU Adcenter Creative Directors Management Program. Brett did a great job blogging about this event which you can [...]

John C. Jay Interview
John C. Jay interview on Honeyee
Nothing too deep here but I like anytime Honeyee graces us with some english amongst those beautiful Japanese characters. I had a video bookmarked of John Jay talking at VCU adcenter (Brandcenter) during their creative directors workshop last year that I really need to post but the link is [...]

W+K by DoDeca
This is the DoDeca camera by Imagemaker 360 being dragged around my all-time favorite ad agency Wieden+Kennedy’s Portland office. Click and drag on the screen to move the view around. So fun.

RealArtist for iPhone
I love the RealArtist app for iPhone. Get it from the Installer list under Toys if you have 3rd party apps enabled. It’s like turning your photos into Kristin Baker paintings with the flick of your finger. Yesssss.

Crapinabox Immortalized
Crapinabox.net seems to drift into my life every six months or so and then fade away. Not this time. I’m immortalizing it here today so I always know where there’s a link for me. I could bookmark it but that really wouldn’t help you enjoy the aesthetic joy that is Crapinabox.net

Couple of new books and p.s. The Road is a must read.
Picked up Zadie Smith’s ‘White Teeth’ and Marisha Pessl’s ‘Special Topics in Calamity Physics’ yesterday. They’ve got their work cut out for them after my last two reads.
Just finished ‘The Road’ by Cormac McCarthy the other day and that makes two books in a row that had me teary eyed after a lifetime of reading [...]

Yeah you did
Alex and Jodi didn’t know each other before this day and thus could not be blamed for the lack of obligatory “I’m going to be wearing my touque, flannel, black jeans, and white shoes so you better not be” courtesy call before meeting.

Australian Party Boy!
If a gay three way between Jeff Spicoli, Joel Goodsen, and Trevor Andrew could yield a child this guy would be it.

Blood was more than expected…
Saw There Will Be Blood twice on the weekend and after building it up and building it up it actually exceeded my expectations. It is truly an epic film and I can’t stop thinking about it. Highlights? You can’t help but love the Kubrickian (yeah I did) ending, it’s legendary. DDL is not human. The [...]

There Will Be Blood!
Well the day is here. I’ve been waiting for months, nerded out over every single possible review, and listened to the score over and over. Finally, Paul Thomas Anderson’s There Will Be Blood is opening in Vancouver. I’ll let you know how it is tomorrow. On a side note, I watched No Country For Old [...]

TED Talks with Sir Ken Robinson
This video was linked on John Jay’s blog a couple of months ago and I think it’s a really important speech today more than ever. It’s a talk given at TED by Sir Ken Robinson about how academia supresses creativity.
More and more people are starting to understand the power of [...]
