Going Analog
I’ve always had a thing for big scrap books and yet I’ve never taken the time to start one. A little while back, I was listening to an ad creative talk about how one of the older CDs at his shop had made a point of keeping track of all his ideas and spec executions [...]

Matthew Palladino
I really like this Matthew Palladino work that I just found on Fecal Face. He’s an SF based artist who uses various types of watercolor and acrylics on paper. Kind of reminds me of Claire Rojas. Anyone else reminded of Ezra Jack Keats when they see Claire Rojas or Matthew Palladino’s style of painting? I [...]

Topherchris and Catbird are two of my favorite Tumblrs and two great web imagineers. Big Giant Helvetica is a nice simple site for when you simply want to send a simple message. Simple. Big. Helvetica. BigGiantHelvetica.com

Art for Obama
Rob Walker wrote a piece in the NY Times today in his regular column ‘Consumed’ about how Barack Obama’s run for the Democratic nomination has sparked the creative bug in many of his followers.
I can’t help but think that this is perhaps leading up to actually getting to youth vote out by the end of [...]

W+K in the mail
I got a big fat book in the mail today from the nice people at Wieden+Kennedy in Portland. I submitted my portfolio to W+K Seeking a couple of months ago but didn’t make it this time. Anyways, they were nice enough to send me a book they did for their 25th founder’s day last year [...]

I’m finally on Tumblr
So after looking at my cool friends with their fancy Tumblr blogs I finally broke down and started one last night. I’m still going to blog here (hopefully I don’t get lazy) but I’ll also have a place to add random pics, videos and music if I want.
Check out the aptly named ihavegoodtaste.tumblr.com

Where on Earth is Waldo?
You really can’t beat a simple idea done well and here’s yet another example. Some Emily Carr students here in Vancouver put up a giant Waldo on their roof that is viewable from Google Earth…Gotta spend some time finding it tonight.
They did a great job of blogging about it here too.
UPDATE: I guess you can’t [...]

Beautiful Losers: The Documentary
Beautiful Losers was something I didn’t get to experience but I remember hearing about when it was going on. Fast forward a few years and they’re releasing a documentary about the show featuring a bevy of great young artists from Ed Templeton and Harmony Korine to Barry McGee and Shepard Fairey.
There’s [...]

McGinley’s ‘I Know Where The Summer Goes’
Ryan McGinley’s latest show ‘I Know Where The Summer Goes’ begins tonight and runs for the next month at Team Gallery in NYC. Beautiful stuff as usual. I love the brighter days of youth type stuff over the darker Morrissey or Kate Moss stuff he was doing. These are amazing.
Check out more at Team [...]

Bert Rodriguez
The Whitney Biennial 2008 is just a little over a week away for you New Yorkers out there and I was just taking a look at this year’s artists. I saw Bert Rodriguez on the list and recognized his name from the fact he was also in the Miami Art Basel this year.
As someone who [...]
